Curiosity is motivation. The arguments against motivation only work if you constrain its definition to whether you "feel like doing something today", but that's a very shallow definition and motivation really runs much deeper than that.
I did end up thinking about what you said, it took me a while before I got what you were trying to say. I will update what I wrote cause I think you have a good point. Would you like to collaborate? Or if there's anything you'd like to say let me know here, I'll be sure to include it.
