I read an article a few days ago (I can't remember the link) about some kind of processing being applied to videos, and on watching the above video I can clearly see that the video has been processed.

This is one I watch every now and then and it is looks very different from what I used to see.

The faces are smooth and lacking in detail and the sound even seems out of sync.

If it is something done by Youtube then it is horrible. I'd rather have the original "unenhanced" ones if the quality is low.

These are videos going back to the late 70s and early 80s so the original quality may not be so good, but this processing seems to have made them worse.

Here is another one, showing similar traits.

Am I the only one to have noticed this? I don't think it has to do with my monitor or video card.

I've seen a couple videos labeled as being "AI Enhanced." To me they look weird because shadows are way too dramatic, and anything that might blur in motion gets this very strange look about it that continually makes you think you're watching an animation.
YouTube replaced a bunch of music videos with higher resolution replacements at some point, without changing the URL.

Some weren't great examples, I think Tom Scott has a video about it called "Why some "remastered" music videos look awful"
