Speculate HN: How does OpenAI's GPT Builder work?

it's clever, just updating the preferences of the GPT by talking to it - I like this approach.

I can appreciate why it wouldn't be deployed to ChatGPT proper (especially after promising they don't train on user input data LoL) - but let's put on our magic computer wizard hats and speculate.

But I really liked the SPECIFIC aspect of having an "admin panel" for a GPT where I can just pass in files, data, etc, my feedback immediately and it really learns.

Is GPT builder just cheating, and doing a forced "RAG" type thing that it loads in? Or is it really changing some kind of individual user policy per GPT?
