Loved this. Two great arguments for managers:

* systems thinking points to managers as focus points for communication, accountability and more. If you don't have them, you still need the work they do so it gets done in a hidden, 'on the edges' way.

* most everybody else does this, so it's a boring technology.

Don't worry at one point apple don't need steve as well
at one point Steve jobs would have been healthier if Steve jobs didn't make decisions about Steve jobs.
There is a bizarro world of engineering out there. It treats engineering like an LLM. Provide high level verbal requirements and iterate. When things break punish. Get rid of failing threads, praise working threads. Repeat until you get a barely usable end product.

As with an LLM, this is a strategy that can work in some contexts, but does not represent general intelligence.
