Disgusting. Pretty sure this is not (only) to train AI but to populate a facial recognition database to ensure that these individuals will always be trackable by Google with the only opt-out being extensive surgery.
These aren't just photos, they're up-to 40 seconds of video, while a Telus rep surveils the call to make sure everything goes smoothly. Truly dystopian IMO.
