Ask HN: Did the most recent windows update break USB peripherals?

On two separate windows laptops with two different usb hubs, the usb peripherals have stopped worked. Plugging keyboards/mice directly into usb ports doesn’t resolve the issue.

Two coworkers reported the same issue A hard reset on my surface fixed it, but I’ve been unable to resolve on the work device as I don’t have admin access.

My colleague reports that this was true for him and that he periodically reinstall some drivers to restore USB functionality

I tried to advertise ubuntu to him but he said he wants the 100% percent of excel and word features
