Ask HN: Which tool I should use to talk with my Beta users?

3 points by mhrnik ↗ HN
I have 72 Beta users and right now I am finishing my MVP and want them to try it.

My requirement is to have a closed space when I can share progress with them and get early feedback. Can you suggest me should I just email them or use any tool like discord?

Discord's good enough. Don't overthink it, just go with what you know that'll get the job done, possibly for free - cause why not.
haha! you have a point.
Does it have to be Discord instead of Slack? Maybe it's a generational gap or something, but I feel like Slack is much less distracting to work with, in terms of having different workspaces (instead of being shared with someone's gamer name), not having a flood of huge animated stickers and emoji, etc. Every time I'm in Discord I get overwhelmed by the chaos, and Slack feels much more focused on just getting work done...
Doesn't have to, no. Discord had a much more generous free tier last time I checked.
What about the users who won't use/sign up with Discord?

In my experience a decent chunk won't, so the same info needs to be sent with email.

I might be old but a listserv has always been valuable.

If good enough for Linux then something to consider.
