Exploring Habit Formation: My Coding Project Turned Startup Experiment

Hello HN community!

I'm embarking on a project that's part personal challenge, part learning experiment. As someone who has taken up coding in the past couple years and curious about the startup world, I've decided to develop a mobile app focused on helping people maintain daily habits. My primary goal here is to practice and enhance my coding skills (and build something that helps reinforce my habit of coding everyday for a few hours), but as the project evolves, I'm also treating this as learning the ropes of potentially launching a startup.

This app aims to address the common struggle of sticking to good habits, something I believe many of us can relate to. I've built a couple of basic apps, but want to go back to the beginning to understand real-world needs and challenges is crucial, and I’d genuinely appreciate your insights. I've created a short survey to gather feedback on habit formation challenges and desired app features. Your input would be incredibly valuable and will directly influence the development of this project.

I'm also eager to make this a learning journey for others - I am making a career transition from a government technology sector policy role to stepping onto the field of entrepreneurship and this is my first step, so happy to share my experiences. Let me know if you're interested, I'm happy to share my progress, the hurdles I encounter, and the lessons I learn along the way.

I’m open to any advice or insights this community can offer, as I know I have a lot to learn!

Here's the link to the survey: https://forms.gle/wNAcrT9T638g8coZA

Thank you for your time and for helping a fellow learner on their coding and entrepreneurial journey!
