I don't get a clear picture of who these super users are, but since they tend towards rural and trucks show up as popular vehicles, it might just be waiting for wider availability of electric trucks.
In Norway the miles driven per year in EVs started low but rose quickly to overtake ICE. The cost of fuel is a motivator for those that drive a lot of miles.
