LimeWire was a social network, that a third of people globally installed by running a simple installer. People in the 20th percentile of tech literacy could probably install and use LimeWire.

Compare with how difficult it is today to install and run your own email or mastodon server or any other social media-esque server.

I remember running LimeWire at like 7 years old, it wasn't difficult at all. The difficult part was when dad found all the malware I'd infected the family PC with.
