While this is a shame, there was neither good content nor engagement. I mean, when you run a search for "DesignerNews", the first sub-result is "DesignerNews is almost dead", which seemed to always be true.
I do have a Google/Alexa/something app published that reads the top stories from DesignerNews, which will definitely break, so I'll have to dig around and take it offline.
I used to use that website a long time ago when I was looking to get into design / web development, I think it predates me visiting HN daily which replaced it.
Crazy to think about actually, over the many years of my online life, I have sites that I visit every day, there are always a few but they have changed over the years.
