Not to conflate capitalism and democracy, but any system that during normal operation creates the mechanism to destroy it will be destroyed.

Super rich billionaires at this level control goverment spending. They can also hide their assets around the globe.

So this seems like a great way for billionaires to increase their wealth, at expense of "upper middle class" who can not do this. (honestly $10m is not that much)

So on the one hand they exploit all legal ways to minimise their tax burdens, and on the other they call for more tax? What game is this?
They want to change the rules of the game. They want systemic change, instead of system that relies on individual virtues and restraint.

They are 100% right.

A group of people can hold multiple contradicting ideas simultaneously.
This feels a _bit_ like that "We should improve society somewhat" meme.
Great PR from the overlords at Davos. While they're saying this they're designing loopholes to avoid whatever taxes do get approved. We need wealth redistribution but the best they can do is billionaires pretending to care.
