i've been owning a 5 kwh offgrid for the last 3 years. its been a blast and i really enjoy the independence it gives. dont have much by way of storage, its primarily on-grid so i get offsetting benefit which is good enough for me because i can use electricity as much as i want.
i really dont care about "carbon costs" or "offsets". i care about increasing my energy use and reducing my monthly bill. my solar has helped me do that so i am happy and i encourage everyone for doing so
