I wanted to learn PGP so I built this web app which is pure browser based.
It’s not remotely finished, but it is functional. Kind of.
If anyone wants to learn PGP through messing with buttons, dragging stuff around, then have fun with this. It has some cool features, such as downloading keys and being able to drop them into place.
I suppose being able to generate PGP keys on virtually any device with a browser is my favourite part so far. It’s pretty accessible. Also, it’s interesting seeing which parts of the keys don’t really change in PGP keys due to the metadata (which there is quite a lot of).
So far it’s incomplete, but my ultimate aim is to have this being something that the layperson uses… ambitious I know. Not just for encryption, but for proving ideas were yours first and making predictions which you can later prove. Signing and so on. I also plan to have it being a place where users can write things which are encrypted, and allow a private key to be uploaded if they want it to be decrypted on a particular date for anyone else to read. I have already coded another part of the site which decrypts an entire webpage.
I will keep dropping updates in the future about this. My words on it right now are a bit rambling and incoherent as it’s 5am.

Maybe someone can suggest ways to improve this?
Thanks.
Write an essay about it. Tell me about what you learned, and what it's doing. The visuals are fun, and it's surprisingly visually coherent on mobile.
But... what's interesting about it to you?
