I made the reverse move a similar number of years ago.

* disliked 1Password monetization uplifts. They basically decided to move to rental not purchase.

* unquestionably smoother integration on chrome-osx in 1password. Bitwarden is fine but its clunky at times.

* I find bitwarden on Android pretty ok. It does kind of suck but TBH they all suck.

I pay bitwarden money. I just like them better than 1password, I wouldn't say there's a killer reason to stick either side. I do like that bitwarden will let me run my own head-end in a VPS, or at home, and not have to cloud things via them and I like their explicit "the outer security rounds count needs to increase" messages when I login to their accounts management interface.

Agreed! I resonate with you about Bitwarden being "fine but sometimes clunky".

I am wary of 1Password business practices as well.

Time will tell if I'll be back to Bitwarden :)
