Just got this message when trying to download youtube-dl:

The fact that you are blocked from visiting a website does not mean that it has been “taken down”.

I don’t know exactly what the domain you’re trying to access is but most likely this block is at a DNS level, so just stop using the DNS server provided by your ISP (which there is no reason to do anyway) and use something like https://www.dns0.eu/ or one of the many other alternatives instead.

Also, in my opinion, yt-dlp is better.

https://github.com/ytdl-org/youtube-dl works just fine for me and so does http://ytdl-org.github.io/youtube-dl/. What's your DNS?

Next time this happens just type "<thing you wanted> mirror" into your search engine. Usually that will give you some more options. Geoblocking tools is not going to stop unfortunately.
Or, you know, maybe don’t use DNS servers that break the Internet, and maybe don’t rely on “mirrors” that you have no idea who is operating them.

Why would anyone use an online service for this anyways. Why not just use VLC?
