Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp... not a Meta fan but they've just about cornered the social mnedia market. Now they have Threads. When they get into AI, they'll at least have access to just about everyone that's connected to the internet.
A search competitor to Google/Bing for starters? VR Oculus reborn? 3 million active worldwide advertisers means they have squeezed their users for every last bit of data and then some.
I think Meta has some merits to this claim, before Meta had their LLM torrent released, OpenAi was the only option to access generative ai. Today, we are able to run it offline on our phones thanks to Metas contribution.
Keep in mind, I just wrote down my experience on this, I could be totally wrong.
