Ask HN: Best books on early/prehistoric humans?

1 points by wellthisisgreat ↗ HN
Looking for some recommendations on books on prehistoric humans.

Not interested in Neanderthals, more our direct ancestors.

Bonus points if the book is available in audio format.

I tried searching Reddit etc, but the recommendations fell short (Sapiens, The Dawn of Everything)

Not an answer to your question, but venting about Sapiens's borderline criminal teasing of early human history (then begging off with "well, our records are spotty" and devolving into 300 pages of woke horseshit).
As shit goes, horseshit is pretty good: better than bullshit, and much better than chickenshit. Did you intentionally calibrate your shit, or was it accidental?
