Banana announce their market withdrawal from the serverless GPU providers market, citing business dynamics and Erik Dunteman recommends alternate services:

API Route: OpenAI, Replicate for ease & efficiency; skipping custom infra.

Custom Code and infra:

Runpod (easy switch),

Modal (their favourite but has opinionated SDK),

AWS Sagemaker (stability),

KServe ( open-source, "banana-like"),

Shadeform.ai (multi-cloud API without multi-account setup),

Brev.dev (interactive notebook for development, HTTPS exposed ports).

I think it's really interesting when a startup announces their exit from a market and gives their opinions on their place in it, and the relative comparison of the alternatives because they know a fair bit about their market and the behind the scenes details.

I would love to know more about what challenges led to this decision instead of pivoting given that it seems like there was some product market fit.
