I'd love to use FF if it weren't for it's A/V sync issues with audio over TB3/USB4.

Thank you! I forgot about this and will add a note.

One nice feature about Simple Translate is that it supports many more languages than Firefox has built-in, and you can trigger it on any page, regardless of whether Firefox detects it's in another language.
