This looks really good but I would like to see some real use video and reviews.
It's like a combination of google glasses and meta ray-ban. Maybe not a replacement for Meta Quest / Vision Pro / xReal but perfect form factor for simple HUD for navigation, AI text/voice translation etc.
The only think I wish it had:
- magnetically connect to stem and via usb-c to laptop / smartphone so that camera could be used as WebCam
- IMU sensor that can stream data via usb-c
- having ToF depth camera
- better looking glass Frame such as those from zenni [0] and you could have also magnetic clip on for turn into sunglasses
But this is great that is open source and could be even a better alternative for Humane AI Pin.
edit:
on VentureBeat article [1] it seems it has 'spatial camera' and 6DoF IMU - I think they should clarify and update their main page and specs page since they also don't show that it has microphone
I thought the whole "stick a transparent oled screen on the outside of glasses" was an idea that was proven not to work. Since that seems to be the display technology, I too am skeptical.
What has been a functional revolution with the Apple Vision Pro has been the combination of a super high-res OLED display (higher than anyone has seen before in a head mounted device), plus super-low latency tracking and processing. You open a window and no matter what you do with your head or eyes, it's just absolutely locked into place -- until you actively do something to make it move.
No one else comes close.
I want to see another level of revolutionary processing beyond that. And I don't think there's another company in the world that can do that today, or likely to be able to do that in five years. Maybe ten years. Perhaps. I hope.
I don't think this is transparent oled screen (though it looks like in their reners) - idea seems similar to xReal that they are mirroring oled panel - in xReal it works well just their mirror beamers to bulky to use for daily use since too much distracting. Brilliant seems using some more advanced optics for light guiding.
I couldn't find the specs. But tbh, xreal air look better technically. One upside of these however, is that they are open source, although they seem to be lacking motion tracking features.

I'm not going to believe one word about this product until I see it in the real world hands of multiple users.
No one else comes close.
