after. Also cat is the only filter unless diesel, although modern cars tend to have multiple cats optimized for different temperatures as gasses cool.

Heavily regulated thing is so good you don't need to regulate it anymore is such a supremely dumb comment it kind of overshadows the rest of this company's work.

I don't think that the author meant what you say. They simply wanted to surprise the reader by the current level of the technology, using an unexpected comparison.
Good thing evs don't have massive take off torque...
If there were regulations about particulates from tyres, EV's would be forced to ensure there was no tyre slippage during acceleration.

Luckily modern accelerometers can very accurately detect even small amounts of tyre slippage and adjust torque to prevent it. Since the coefficient of static friction is typically higher than the coefficient of dynamic friction, doing so would likely improve acceleration times too.

Is there a solution to this? A biodegradeable tyre, or perhaps on that doesn't produce such small particulates?
Biodegradability would be great, except one thing, tires are exposed to the environment and elements constantly, youd be having to replace tires much much much more frequently.

Recently saw an article[1] talking about potential tires similar to what was used on the moon rovers, which is a woven steel, this could be a great solution, exceeeeppppt so many roads are a disaster between lack of maintenance and debris, that youd likely have to deal with busted tires more often. The upside though is that the worst that happens is you get a hole that causes uneven ride and eventually a bigger hole. No need for air in the tire as its just a woven steel anyway.
