Ask (Visually Impaired) HNers: How do you use headsets?

at $JOB right now I'm in charge of some software development for accessibility. I come to HN as I'm having a hard time finding information about the way tech savvy people with visual impairement use sound and headsets, and how they would like to in the future. This includes both at home to navigate UI's, and also when out and about dealing with ATMs, payment terminals, train stations and whatnot... Do you have favorite tools, headsets, and so on? How much is bluetooth widespread, do you have any dreams of what would really help you navigate the world better... I looked at what information the associations provide, eg. https://www.afb.org/blindness-and-low-vision/using-technology/cell-phones-tablets-mobile ...and am not super satisfied. That page starts with "If you've ever watched an episode of Star Trek", come on! So please have a go: any ideas and feedback welcome.
