Is there a FAQ and I missed it? Would like to learn about their business model.

They have an OpenCollective that is sponsored and is receiving donations. They're open source both for regular users and businesses last time I checked.

Well personal thoughts are most important product and they want to collect it for free. Is there self hosting version ?

It's open-source and you must either self host it, install it as a program on your desktop or install it as an application on your phone or tablet. See the Downloads page.
