Difficult to imagine that anyone sane and senior in DC feels good about Mr. Musk's, ah, behavioral issues.
But if they're bright enough to notice China's no-pretense-of-friendliness behavior, and leaps & bounds progress in space capabilities, over the past decade-ish...then they know they gotta have proven/available/scalable launch and orbital capabilities of their own. And swallow the necessary compromises for now.
