TL;DR where do you get up-to-date knowledge from (on trends, techs, etc.)?

Recently I got into an information bubble/hole that rendered me out of date in terms of new trends and technologies. The only source of knowledge on what's up was one conference sponsored by my company. Then I met a colleague who gave me the link to HN, which really opened my knowledge. Where else do you get the knowledge from?
