Beside of achieving a cycle-life of 1000, it's most impressive to me that they managed to get away with only 500 cycles for that long.

500 is actually average for many years now, Premium smartphones used to introduce batteries with a cycle-life of 800 already ~10 years ago [1], using more expensive batteries...

(However, I'm not sure if they rolled back to 500 on newer products then and stopped talking about it, considering that apparently noone cared...)

Anyway, the first product I'm aware of supporting a battery cycle-life of 800 was the LG Optimus G in 2012, with a battery from LG Chem
