Has hiring slowed down lately?

Excuse my naivety but I've not been looking at the job market (EU) lately. I started looking again a few days ago and my impression is that compared to 2 yrs before it has slowed down a lot.

This or my CV lost a lot of its competitiveness in these 2 yrs.

What's your impression?
