I don't live in my home country and whenever I travelled back, I got a lot requests from people I know to bring some things for them from home. That is when I thought of building `brings`, that would help connect two people, one of which is travelling between locations and another one who needs their item brought between those locations. There are a lot of improvement that we already have in mind, but would appreciate your feedback as well. Thank you.

Fine doing it for family members, do it for strangers and you'll quickly become a drug mule.

Exactly my first thought. I would never carry anything through customs for someone else. You'd have to be crazy.

I totally agree. That's a problem that we know of already, and do you think having the user's govt IDs verified would kind of resolve this?

Would a private company saying "trust us, we've checked their id" make me risk a 20-year stretch? No.

This is so funny to me. You'd have to be an absolute simpleton to not come to this conclusion immediately.

"Officer I swear, the app paid me 20 quid to bring this bag I didn't pack myself. That's ok right?"

This is pretty cool! I like the idea of small platforms to connect people with a specific need. I see why requester would log an entry on the site, but what would make a traveler think "oh, I should go make a post on this website" every time they travel, especially if it's unlikely anyone takes them up on the offer, they might just never do it. It also might be nice if someone could make a recurring/constant post, if they travel back and forth between places, say every week. Overall this seems like a great idea, and I hope that it takes off (though making small platforms is really hard).

Yeah, I didn't post it on Show HN because this kind of doesn't alight with the rules for Show HN. If people want to try this they will have to sign up.

When I thought of building the feature to make sure that requester as well traveller can make an entry, the idea was, requester would do it because they want something to be brought up between locations, and traveller would make an entry because they might earn some money bringing the parcel for someone from requester.

Now I wonder if this could be done with humans. Maybe it could revolutionise transport. Instead of having taxi drivers circling around trying to find people, and thus wasting enormous amounts of time and emissions we could get people to share rides, maybe we could call this something like ridesharing?

If that is a bomb, a drug or even just money you may be in trouble even if you have checked their ID (which can be faked and you are not expert … and if they want you to carry those these doc are faked).
