I don't think that's fair here.

Microsoft should not require a Microsoft Account to use Windows. But I as an individual cannot change Microsoft's position. I'm not saying Elon can either, but I suspect his feedback will carry more weight.

Others might be thankful that someone with access brought attention to this issue for many people at a higher level. Sure you can bypass this with a few buttons and a string, but is that really a good user experience? Maybe difficult to not bring personality bias into the situation and see the action itself as good.

edit: Ah guess the top level comment is gone now...

The quote is from the article, not from a comment.
Nadella: "You first with Twitter/X."
Yeah, right? How is this not hypocritical given the post-Musk implementation of requiring an account to view tweets?
Atleast let us read the whole thread instead of a single post (with or without top replies).
It’s a rather different scenario. You bought the laptop, you own it. That used to mean something.

If Musk wants to paywall all Twitter content, or heck, rebrand it into a StarWars fan club, who cares? Not I. But I care about my computer.

You bought the laptop, so you own the hardware.

You did not buy the software, you only get a license, and that comes with it's own terms.

How long has it been since I've been able to get through a 24 hour tech news cycle without hearing about Elon? A decade, maybe? It just keeps getting dumber and dumber.
Does Twitter still support custom stop words?
Windows: the entrydrug into "personal" computing. /s You need to learn to hack and tweak it, before it gets personal again.
This would be the same guy who put a hard login wall on Twitter threads?

I mean, I suppose even a stopped clock is right twice a day, but if there's anyone who lacks credibility to complain about this...

Can you own&use a Tesla car without an account? Thought so.
