Open Collective Foundation dissolving at end of 2024
I couldn't find a blog post or article for this, but I just got an email from Open Collective stating:
> It is with a heavy heart that I’m writing today to inform you that the Board of Directors of the Open Collective Foundation (OCF) has made the difficult decision to dissolve OCF, effective December 31, 2024.

EDIT: It's the OC Foundation, one of the US-based fiscal hosts, that is dissolving.
OC as a whole remains active, as do other fiscal hosts like the Open Source Collective (US) and OC Europe.
If those acronyms sound confusing, read my explainer: https://communityovercode.com/2024/02/open-collective-founda...
And keep hitting refresh on the Dissolution FAQ noted elsethread the OCF is updating: https://docs.opencollective.foundation/
I'm personally the admin of a (very small) OCF collective. It's sad to see them stopping. When starting the collective ~2 years ago, OCF was an attractive option because of their fees, which were significantly lower than many other big fiscal hosts (5% instead of 10%). Their array of services was also impressive, but I never made use of any service outside the core Open Collective feature set. I wonder if raising their fees, or cutting down services, would have made the operation more sustainable.
