Great job following up. I will keep reposting and sharing until we all find out what really happened, and who is really behind the attack.

You probably should have included an explanation of why the OP would have experienced a markedly different experience with the service you mention. This seems to be the answer:

I have to wonder how well that will work out after multiple episodes of heavy bandwidth usage as experienced by netlify in this instance and others in the past.
