Ask HN: Ideas on how to train a simple AI model of myself to be stored locally?

What I'm trying to get at is a starting point for a local app with a GUI that is for the "afterlife" that my family can use after I'm gone. I see services like "StoryFile Life" and "HereAfter AI" that basically ask you questions to create a model of yourself. Some of them even do voice replication and animated avatars.

I'm worried if I use one of those services, there's certainly a potential that one day they can go out of business... and all of the cloud data + application is gone forever.

I'm looking for a way to keep my stories/advice/etc accessible (to chat with) forever as long as they can run an app with a database of my recorded input, like on a local drive that will stand the test of time.

Easier said than done, I know. But if anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciate it.

What's your life expectancy?

Because any coding you put in today will be hopelessly out of date in 5 years, but any "memoir" you write today will be just as good 5 years from now, either for a human to read or AI to process.

I mean, I could be hit by a bus tomorrow. A memoir type of story-telling is one thing, but I'm more interested in having some sort of application that can parse a Q&A that I made with myself (perhaps based on thousands of questions), while also giving responses that sound like me, have a voice like me, and maybe even an avatar that looks like me. But, locally. Not with a 3rd party service that may shut down in a few years.

Right, but what I mean is the work you put into the data (could be Q&A, journal entries, etc.) will be useable by any local AI model in 5 years. Or can be read by a human. Any coding you do will be out of date.

I'm saying I'd focus on the data first.

That said... suppose your father died and had written 2000 questions and answers about himself. Would you prefer to read what he wrote, or would you prefer to dump it in an AI and have the model do some black box improv version of what he wrote which may or may not resemble the original material very well?
