Apple's following of the law is definitely provocative to say the least. I think that big tech have started actively going against EU policies. While I don't have much love for big tech, the fact is that it has now become a required part of life.
One of the most frequent terms is "fee". That's all Spotify and Epic care about.
Spotify is a for profit company. What should they care about?
I consider that a limited view of the tasks and responsibilities of a company, but if you see it so black-and-white, then I, nor anybody else, and certainly not Apple or the EU, should care about Spotify, because it's not our profit.
If it wasn't the fees, what could Spotify complain about in the iOS eco-system? Both Apple and Spotify seem pretty aligned what they think are acceptable content, and beyond that I don't see anything that Apple and Spotify could have a conflict about.
Companies may only care about the money, but as long as the goal aligns with the public's interests, it's fine.
