Just discovered what3words. Is this a missed opportunity? (support.what3words.com) 2 points by elwell 2y ago ↗ HN
[–] elwell 2y ago ↗ Is this a missed opportunity to make each word successively more granular? (like a quadtree)You could also cluster names alphabetically to indicate proximity.E.g., banana.star.green would be close to banana.star.electronics, and would be closer to banana.curry.funk than house.choose.watcher. [–] stop50 2y ago ↗ The words are not alphabetically sorted to prevent somebody mishear a word and driving to the wrong location. [–] elwell 2y ago ↗ Good point. Still think granularity could have been embedded in the naming scheme. It would be cool if you could become familiar with the some of the first words in your ?state?, and some second words in your ?city?.
