“We are embarking on a journey to migrate from current event sourced system that is completely built in F# with a strong focus on the functional programming paradigm. Existing system is designed around Event Sourcing/CQRS principles and is a highly distributed system of hundreds of microservices running in Azure Kubernetes on Walmart’s Cloud Native Platform. All communication is done with Kafka. The existing system is being migrated to a next generation event driven best in class platform that is built in JAVA and has the reusability, high fault tolerance and high availability as its core architectural tenet.”
Personally (I) think Java deserves more respect from everyone. We all understand the impossibility of perfection but we have to admit that Java changed software development forever.
I still remember my small experience at Sun Microsystems with those first versions of Java and how, from my inexperience, a world opened up that, for me, has never ceased to be wonderful involved in software development.
