This was expected. The field of psychology cannot hold a decade without patient abuse and in many cases it is kids. It depends on the country but the field seriously lacks accountability and quality checks, and yes, it is valid to generalize here to a large degree.
That people from a wide range of political backgrounds have put their differences on other topics aside to to collaborate on addressing safeguarding failures involving vulnerable children, and to highlight a burgeoning medical scandal, is surely a positive thing.
I suggest that you look into this deeper, because once again "think of the children" is being used as a stalking horse for a sinister political agenda. Hint: Neither the TERFs nor the chuds will stop with concern trolling about trans kids. If they get their way on this, trans adults are next.
