Dang pointed out that as the site gets more popular the quality will go down. Try to point out someone copied another posting but with better timing and you get downvoted even though the link is the exact same.
There's already a /from?site= endpoint that they currently hyperlink to next to every title (e.g. <https://news.ycombinator.com/from?site=cyberus-technology.de>) and I'm pretty sure that's the same endpoint that Refined Hacker News uses to provide its 'similar submissions' list. I wouldn't think it would insurmountable for them to XHR that list under the submission form as a "uh, are you sure your thing is unique and not reposted within the past year".
