So relativity distortions (sorry, I might be using wrong term here) are observable by fairly simple things. Mercury's orbit is probably measurable by an amateur telescope these days, right?
I always thought this is some lab/collider/expensive science thing.
The "Spectral reflectance curves for aluminum (Al), silver (Ag), and gold (Au) metal mirrors" graph is neat - hmmm, silver has a 0% notch at ~320 nm (near UV) ...
