I wonder whether late Soviet tanks are the maximum of tank design, like the 19th century swords or early 20th century pistols.

Modern tanks are more effective in some ways but the cost, production time and durability may not be as good. And at the end of the day they’re still mostly vulnerable to ATGMs and anti armour mines.

A tank with lots of electronics can’t be stored outdoors in Siberia for 50 years like a T72.

How many T72s have to be kept outside for 50 years to have one functioning T72 at the end?
With drones being the new weapon of the day, tanks are going to go the way of the dodo. Shame because drone warfare is lame.

The next generation war strategy games are going to be so boring. /S
