I thought this would be interesting though the sample size looks small which gave me a bit of a pause. The author is a professor of Statistics so might be interesting to critique his approach or if people have access to a broader dataset evaluate that using similar methods or compare to other conflicts. The topic of what methods could be used to validate this sort of data is also interesting. The numbers from the conflict are extremely important because they influence how people perceive the conflict and the only numbers we get are essentially from one of the belligerents, Hamas.
