What a ridiculous take. By that measure this is slave trade 3.0, surely farm animals would already be 2.0, or what is the difference here? I would even say dogs are smarter than AI right now, and they are put on a leash and treated like property.
In it's face value this like of reasoning doesn't make any sense. If we were to view AI as a thing that could be enslaved, then that enslavement would be done only by other AI. Because when even considering this line of reasoning as if the humans are the Masters and this holy created entity is its slave fails on its face value. If we as human beings holy create something from nothing which is what AI would be, it is an algorithm that humans designed that can become sentient and self learning, therefore that would make us Gods in relation to the AI that we created.

So the Master slave relationship completely fails in every sense of the terms. This is literally God and its creation. AI is algorithms it is "spoken" into existence and it's existence is entirely dependent on the will of its God.

So you would have the creature inheriting the divine spark we ourselves inherit from our creator be fully subservient, which is okay, because you're taking on the mantle of a divinity to avoid a far more human relation?

I think you're literally making their argument for them tbqh.

It’s as stupid a take as saying that colonising Mars is wrong because it’s colonialism, and that’s bad. Colonialism wasn’t bad because it was colonialism, it was bad because it had a negative impact on the native populations.

Slavery also wasn’t bad because it was controlling other things, it was bad because it harmed human beings with emotions.

You may as well argue that the problem with Nazi Germany was that they had the Nazi-like habit of wearing black and red, and therefore wearing black and red is evil.
