Parents have a problem with screen time, too, teens say (washingtonpost.com)

It seems to me that children still take an example from their parents. So, there is some sense in this.

I don't care about screen time at all. I sat in front of the tv bored as shit watching commercials when I was a kid. Phones are worse than that? We used to watch informercials because nothing was on at 2am. Netflix is worse than that?

Kids don't go outside because they have no friends and apparently walking around alone as a child is crime. Nervous adults ruined the world and now they want to take phones away from their kids, for what reason?
