been a loom user for a long time, this looks very promising

do you plan to add editing features?

100%! Editing is next in line after the first public release.
I don't understand - it doesn't appear to be in a useable state>
Currently in early access testing with folks in our Discord.

Will be available publicly soon!

So are you looking for testers, or just hunting upvotes?
New people to join the community - so testers, yes!
How can you have a community around the Github product if there's no product available to test from there?

Just like the last time they posted, it was nothing other than marketing, it literally had none of the Loom features (not even video sharing... which is the entire point of Loom)

Hey I'm trying here it takes time to build something as large as this solo. It's been around 4 months of working on this full-time. I need to be marketing the app at the same time otherwise I'd be launching to crickets. The app is already being used by early access testers in our Discord.

Cap is a full cross-platform Loom alternative. Video sharing is literally the heart of the app and the entire point of it.

Here's a screenshot of a Cap.link shareable link: https://twitter.com/richiemcilroy/status/1767619147674915091

No one is objecting to the time it takes to build something. They are objecting to what is starting to feel to them like spam marketing. HN will be far more receptive when you have a thing people can try themselves. Until then, not so much.

Seems odd to share it if there's nothing to share?

There is. Cap is being tested in our Discord.

Making sure it's high quality before just releasing into the wild. People need to be able to trust that it works properly.

I’ve just add the downloads to your GitHub repo and make it clear that they’re alpha/development builds
It needs to be a bit more controlled than that right now in my opinion. We'll get there very soon. But right now whilst it's so early, with regular breaking changes, it makes sense to stay in the Discord community until there's a published stable release.
* After some reflection I can see that this is too early to show. There should be publicly available links.

Will work on that before posting again - sorry everyone!
