Would the real Satoshi, please stand up... I used to ponder who the real Bitcoin creator really could be. You can go down a rabbit hole if you're inclined. They could be a group of people, but the consensus ;) seems to be that from his original participation in forums while creating the protocol, it was a single person. There's a huge amount of coin tied up in the original wallets he/she/they must have minted still that hasn't moved... Billion's of dollars worth of coin too.
Maybe Satoshi just wants to live a life quieter than what he could possibly be living if everyone knew they controlled billions in really, really lightweight currency.
Hal was running a race when Satoshi emailed a different contributor.
A few rabbit-holes if you want to know: IP leak, omitting attribution and later correction, backdating blog posts, Freudian slip in interview, top stylometric contender.
The UK is the country that also said "you can't publish the bitcoin white paper because despite it being MIT licensed, this dude claims to have written it, and despite his track record of harassing anyone he gets the identity of we're not going to require he prove he's the author before issuing summary judgement in his favor if you don't open yourself to being harassed.
It's absurd that you can make a claim like this without your name on a document without providing substantial proof ahead of time that you are the person behind the pseudonym.
