What is happening is that some organized group is submitting mass abuse reports to Facebook/Twitter/Instagram against people whose political opinions they do not agree with. This how most people are getting banned or shadow banned from these platforms recently.
The most prominent people can appeal to the public and get reinstated, but the smaller people just stay banned.
It is too bad that Facebook/Twitter/Instagram can not punish the mass reporters or at least make their mass reports no longer useful after crying wolf so many times.
