Five years for "always will be" is above industry average. If you see "always", "perpetual license" for a good deal - expect 2-3 years of validity.

Antirez is the same guy that used to claim he was NEVER going to set foot in the US as a form of protest against imperialism, death penalty and stuff like that… when he was no one and had little to lose from that.

Then came redis, and that position on setting foot in the US changed, with some adequate mental gymnastics, now that money was on the table.

Then “redis will remain bsd licensed”.

Now the money on the table is seriously at risk, and redis is not bsd anymore.

I don’t really blame antirez for his hypocrisy, i would have probably done the same.

I just dislike this shallow virtue signalling, so bland and so easily bought.
