As much as I would love a sub 10K car, I would not think of one unless it has minimum safety features.. Does it have airbags where they need to be, and has ever participated in any crash tests?
This seems to be the knee-jerk reaction of many.

The slightly bigger siblings in the range got excellent scores in EU crash tests

And this specific vehicle did well in the Chinese tests

So I wouldn't be surprised to see it do well in other tests.
