Ask HN: How much does CI cost your company?

I've been shocked by the costs of cloud compute (and even the overhead of on-prem systems) for CI. I've seen hundreds of VMs used by dozens of engineers at peak.

Are others seeing this in software companies? Or have I seen particularly expensive CI systems?
