I'm surprised this didn't get more comment on HN - I'm curious if people find the explanation to be convincing? Why would the system skip rollout control just because the date was wrong?
Is it likely that Apple would program "skip rollout management" based on the date and not on a specific flag being set?
Is this cover for an update to a heinous bug, or something?
